JOB PURPOSE
Whilst managing, supporting, coaching and motivating the Photography Team, the Photo Services Manager oversees the entire on-board photography operations, internet operations and wristband sales, proposes and implements strategies to achieve and exceed the revenue target established by HQ in order to meet company expectations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Oversees all aspects of staff and operations of Photography, Photo Lab, Digital Systems, Photo Gallery, Photo Shop, Private Portraiture, Internet packages sales and operations, Wristband sales, “MSC for ME” onboard promotions;Maintains established best practices and standardization by implementing the highest standards of photography quality & operational excellence in all areas;Delivers above budget revenue results and associated positive KPI’s for all revenue streams;Develops and maintains a cohesive atmosphere of high morale with an upbeat forwarding thinking team;Develops and maintains high level of communication with other onboard departments;Using specific department KPI’s, accurately documents results, identifies and analyses business trends and suggests improvements for approval.Assigns KPI targets to team members in line with budgets and targets;Consults & collaborates with the corporate support team and shipboard management daily;Develops cruise-by-cruise strategies to enhance guests experience and improve financial results (gross/net revenues);Manages all daily activity for onboard marketing of products to drive revenue expectations, using only approved materials;Creates daily work schedule in line with maritime law, to maximize team productivity;Creates operational plans for seasonality changes and gets approval from dedicated The HUB Fleet Supervisor;Holds daily and weekly goal setting team performance meetings, highlighting strengths & opportunities, and identifying areas to be improved;Responsible and accountable for all inventory management processes, including receiving, usage and requisitions;Able to communicate, report, create project briefs and deliver systems feedback as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)
Fluent English and at least another language, oral and written. Any additional European language is considered an advantage (Italian, Portuguese, German, Spanish and French);High School graduate;3+ years’ experience in a similar role on-board; revenue and operationally astute with cross-functional experience working with multiple business units with technical / IT, operations with marketing departments;Sound knowledge of the main post-production software;Good knowledge of motion and video picture equipment;Able to operate all photographic processing equipment in the photo lab;Ability to work under stress, in challenging contexts and with strong pressure;Able to build effective and clear communication with own team, on-board management and with corporate team.Full knowledge of shipboard cruise line operations, current market trends, and economic factors; preferably within an international organization and accustomed to working with a highly diverse employee base;Analytical orientation with proven success in problem identification and implementation of evolving digital and technical systems;Critical thinker and problem-solver to address gaps in guests’ experiences;Understanding of wet, dry and digital photo lab systems;Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to provide leadership, supervision and training using positive supervisory techniques to ensure maximum productivity;demonstrated ability in organization and delegation skills;Ability to organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term and long-term basis;Ability to provide consultation and expert advice to management;Proven superior oral and written communication skills;Ability to periodically perform evaluations and able to deliver Performance Improvement Plans as needed.
